In my last post, I talked about how I found Last Week in AI, a deep and technical podcast that helped me see the big picture of artificial intelligence. If you are looking for context and want to understand how AI has been evolving, that one is excellent. But not everyone wants to spend an hour and a half each week listening about policy, research papers, and business moves.

This post is about a different podcast. It is lighter, shorter, and designed for people who want to learn about AI without going too deep. It is also a lot of fun.

How I Found It

I first heard about AI For Humans through Last Week in AI. One of the regular hosts of Last Week in AI sometimes steps away to do AI policy work with the U.S. government. When he is out, guest hosts come in. One week, the show brought on two guys who run AI For Humans, Kevin Pereira & Gavin Purcell. They were quick, funny, and brought a different kind of energy.

I remembered them later, after I finished catching up on Last Week in AI. I had spent weeks listening to long, detailed episodes. It was great, but I was ready for something new, something more playful. So I went looking for AI For Humans and gave it a try.

What It Is Like

AI For Humans is casual, approachable, and entertaining. The hosts spend a lot of time trying AI tools and showing what they can do. They talk about tools that are often free or open source, and they explain them in a way anyone can understand. They even create AI “personas” that join their conversations, which is both clever and entertaining. And best of all they are very entertaining and funny during the podcast.

This podcast is not about corporate strategy or policy. It does not aim to cover everything happening in AI. Instead, it focuses on exploring tools, playing with technology, and showing what is possible for everyday users. If you have been curious about AI but do not want to dive into research papers or business analysis, this is a good place to start.

Why I Like It

After months of intense study and hours of technical podcasts, I wanted something different. AI For Humans gives me a way to keep exploring AI without going deep. It helps me learn about open source tools and what you can do with them. I also appreciate that the hosts have fun with the subject. It reminds me that learning can be playful and creative, not just serious and structured.

I also like that this podcast is easy to share. If someone asks me where to start learning about AI and they do not want the long, detailed approach, I can point them here. It is a gentle and fun entry point.

My Recommendation

If Last Week in AI sounded too intense or too long, AI For Humans may be what you are looking for. It is accessible, humorous, and practical. You can listen casually and still walk away with ideas to try yourself. It has been a great complement for me: one podcast to think big, another to stay curious and experiment.
